F1 drivers, team principals and Bernie Ecclestone have each taken a photograph which represents a snapshot of their world and written a caption to accompany it. These signed images will be auctioned off at the event in London next month.

Event sponsor Nikon has also donated nine COOLPIX S9700 cameras to the auction, with each one being signed by a F1 world champion such as Niki Lauda, Sir Jackie Stewart and Mario Andretti.

BBC F1 presenter Suzi Perry will return to host the event. "I’m delighted to be back for a second year," she said. "This is an amazing event, an opportunity to buy one off pieces signed by racing heroes, whilst raising money for such a great cause."

Zoom was founded by Christian Sylt and Caroline Reid; authors of Formula 1’s industry monitor Formula Money. They realised all charity auctions tend to follow a similar pattern, with the items telling very little about the person who donated or signed them, and set up Zoom to rectify that, with the first auction taking place in September 2012. It proved to be a great success.

Ahead of the third annual Zoom event, Sylt said: "Once again we would like to thank the teams and drivers, Bernie Ecclestone, the other participants and all our partners for their support. We are looking forward to building on the success of the two previous events to raise more money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity through the auction of these unique images and the cameras which Nikon has kindly donated."

A book will then be published at a later date with the entire collection of images and captions, with proceeds going towards The Great Ormond Street Children's Charity. More details will be released in due course.

Prior to the auction, here is a sneak peek at some of the images on offer, with Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button's photographs.

Lewis Hamilton: ‘Colorado mountains’ - "Let life flow like a river, follow the path it takes you down. Take it as it comes & whilst you learn along the way, may you help guide the flow in the direction of your dreams."

Jenson Button: 'Cockpit’ - "I have the best job in the world – and this is my office!"
